Equine Art by James Mellick
and Associate Equine Artists
Not all of my sculpture has to do with the canine subject. I have created a few horses in my style and would like the opportunity to do more. This page is given to the equine subject.
Now and then I come across other artists of the equine subject who exhibit exceptional skill and knowledge of the subject and express their ideas in styles and materials different than my own. As an associate of these artists, I am pleased to present the works and links to these artists' home pages so as to satisfy the taste of a client whether it be a contemporary or traditional interpretation of the horse form. I encourage the viewer to contact me if there are any questions about the quality and originality of these artists' art works.
Primary medium is laminated and carved wood. The equine sculptures are finely constructed and finished using some of the same woodworking techniques and premium hardwoods found in contemporary furniture design. Click on the images below to enlarge and see other views of the work.

Don Beck, Baker City,
Oregon; http//:www.donbeckbronzes.com
I think that Don creates some of the finest equine and western art bronzes that I've seen in the traditional manner. He shows a strong knowledge of both human and animal anatomy and technical excellence in casting and use of different color patinas and surface treatments. |

Joe is the designer and carver of the Euro Disney Carousel Horses in Paris, France and has taken the tradition of carousel animal carving to a new benchmark. I believe he is one of the finest carousel horse carvers in America. He also offers a series of carousel horse woodcarving workshops. |
